False Christianity; the Roman Catholic Church

  Satan has constantly been in opposition of God, when Jesus came to earth, Satan tried to destroy Him. When He finally had Jesus crucified, Satan found out he wasn’t victorious but it was only part of God’s plan. Having failed at this, Satan then set his sites on Jesus’ followers trying to destroy them and their faith. But Jesus’ victory over death emboldened His disciples and despite persecution, spread His word and founded His church. After all the disciples had died, the Church continued to grow, so Satan tried to destroy the Church. From A.D. 54, to A.D. 305, the Church underwent severe persecution from the Roman Empire. During this period, Christians were fed to lions, covered with tar and set on fire, covered with animal skins and set upon by wild dogs and boiled in oil, but the Church continued to grow.
Seeing that he couldn’t destroy the Church from the outside, Satan decided to do what he does best, corrupt it from the inside. When Emperor Constantine not only legalized Christianity but gave it government support, Satan had his way in. When Christians started taking over pagan temples as their own, compromises started being made to appease the new Christians who were former members of the temple. When people who were used to worshipping many gods who had different roles wanted to do the same in Christianity, in A.D. 375 the saints were given different roles and prayers were allowed to them. Most pagan religions had a god and a goddess, in A.D. 431 worship of Mary began, putting her on the level of goddess. The first two commandments say;
You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Any time you pray to anything other than God, you are putting the deity you are praying to before God. Praying to and worshipping a statue of Mary or any other deity, is breaking the first two commandments.
Many other pagan practices would become traditions of the church. Making the sign of the cross has it’s origins in Babylonian mysticism, originally it was a “T” for the Chaldean tau, an ancient god. When Jesus walked the earth, He dressed the same as common people, the same with His disciples. In A.D. 500, priests began dressing differently from laypeople, the same as in other religions. Other practices introduced into the church were; prayers for the dead (A.D. 300), mass (A.D.394), purgatory (A.D.593), prayer beads (A.D.1090), and in A.D. 607, the first Pope who was declared infallible in 1870.

We don’t need to go to a priest or even a Pope, who after all are only men and sinners like us, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23) to confess and have our sins forgiven, Hebrews 4: 14-16 says;
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Only Jesus is without sin, and it is only to Him we have to confess our sin and ask forgiveness.
Unfortunately, over the years, the church has become more Roman and less Christian. This isn’t limited to the Roman Catholic Church, as protestant churches grew and became state churches the same influences affected them as well. Infant baptism and the loss of salvation are two prominent false teachings of churches today. Some false teachings, like prayer beads, are useless but do no harm. Others can be dangerous if people are putting their trust in them instead of God. No Saint, not even Mary can answer prayers or grant forgiveness for sin. Some people think that they are saved because of an infant baptism. Baptizing is something you do to show that you have accepted Christ, it does not save you. A lot of Pentecostal churches teach that when you are saved, you are given the gift of tongues. This could lead people to believe that they are saved just because they run around babbling like fools!
This is not to say that anyone who goes to one of these churches isn’t going to heaven, they are just practicing false doctrine. There is only one way to heaven, believe in Jesus, confess that He died for your sins, and trust Him for forgiveness of your sins.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (Romans 10:9-10).
Once you have, you are saved and you can’t lose it;
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. (John 10:29)
As far as anything else, Jesus only gave us two instructions, communion;
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19).
And to be witnesses to others of the good news of His gift of salvation and spread it throughout the earth;
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Anything else is made up by man, it’s not from God.
