The Final Judgments and the New Earth

At the end of Christ’s thousand year reign, Satan receives his judgment and is thrown into the lake of fire, next comes judgment for all non believers. Revelation 20: 11-15 says;

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

All unbelievers, from the beginning of man to the end of the thousand year reign will now be resurrected. All who haven’t put their faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection as forgiveness for their sins will now be judged. People who have faith in their works will be judged by their works. It does not matter how much good you have done, the only thing that can erase your sin is the blood of Jesus. Only through Him can you be forgiven and your sins erased. Many will claim to be saved, believing in false doctrines like an infant baptism or being a member of a church. Many will have put their faith in false religions and claim to be saved. For their sake, the book of life will be opened to check and see if their name is listed in the book of life. When their name is not found, they too will join Satan, Antichrist and the false prophet in the lake of fire. John then sees a new heaven and earth in chapter 21: 1-4.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

People aren’t the only ones to be affected by sin. God created everything perfect and the world isn’t perfect, it too has been affected by sin. Volcanoes, storms, earthquakes, all were not meant to be, the earth was created as a paradise. Much like our sinful bodies will die, only to be replaced with a perfect one, once sin and sinners have been destroyed, so will the earth as sin has affected it and a new perfect earth will take it’s place. Verses 5-8 say;

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

If you want to be one who conquers, there is only one way, put your faith in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sin.
Verses 15-27 describe the new Jerusalem;

And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia. Its length and width and height are equal. He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement. The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass. The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life
Precious metals and stones will be so common, they will be used as building materials. Everything will be perfect, just as originally intended. This time it will stay that way as only ones who are in the Lamb’s book of life will ever enter. If you want to be in that book, you need to know the owner, the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Do you know Him?
