A lot of people may wonder; if the bible tells the real story about creation, why doesn’t it say anything about dinosaurs? We do have fossils and other evidence that they did exist. But there is some mention of dinosaurs, or dinosaur like creatures in the bible. In the book of Job chapter 40 we find this

15 “Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox.16 Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly.17 He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together.18 His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron.19 “He is the first of the works of God; let him who made him bring near his sword!

Now the description of this behemoth sounds a lot like a brontosaur with a tail like a cedar and bones like bronze and limbs like iron. God also tells us that “He is the first of the works of God” science also tells us that dinosaurs came first. But still, there are many conflicts between what the bible says and what science says. The biggest one is the time frame Science says that dinosaurs were extinct long before man. With the bible, dinosaurs and man would have been on earth at the same time. this would be very dangerous for man. But look where dinosaurs have been found, in North America, and western Europe. Away from man who was in the middle east. Science also says the earth is billions of years old, the bible says six days. The first question is “what is a day?” Now God is all powerful and certainly could have created everything in six twenty-four hour days. We find this, in Genesis chapter 1 verse 14 14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years. This is where God creates time, the twenty-four hour days that we know, but this was on day four! So if time hadn’t been created until day four, what are these days? Are they our days or God’s days? 2 Peter 3:8 says 8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day These days could be thousand year increments. But that is still a long way from the billion years science says. For that we have to look at science. Why does science say so long? It’s because of science’s belief system. Science believes in evolution. And although NO evidence has been found to support it, if evolution were possible it would have to take billions of years. So science only uses methods which support this belief, and these have major scientific flaws. Radiometric dating, which scientists use to date the earth, measures the decay of radioisotopes, for example uranium-238 into lead. The problem is science assumes there have been no environmental changes that would change the rate of decay, also science assumes that there was no lead to begin with. Carbon dating which science uses to measure the age of fossils also makes the same assumption that there are no environmental changes to the rate of decay, when we know that volcanic activity decreases the rate of decay. This would make specimens that lived and died during a period of a-lot of volcanic activity appear to be much older. Ignoring variables like this is not good science! But there is strong evidence to show that the earth is less than 10,000 years old. “The Earth's magnetic field is essential to life on Earth for many reasons. One reason is that it deflects much of the cosmic radiation that destroys life. Precise measurements of the Earth's magnetic field have been made since 1829, all over the world. During that time, it has deteriorated exponentially -- that is, it has followed a predictable curve. By graphing this curve, we can determine that life would have been impossible before 20,000 BC (the field would be as strong as the Sun's at that point)”! Other evidence can be found with the moon. “The moon is drifting slowly away from the Earth. If it is getting further away, then at one time it was much closer. The Inverse Square Law in physics states that if the moon was half the distance away, its gravitational effect on our tides would be quadrupled. One third the distance and it would be 9 times stronger. We would all drown twice a day. 1.2 billion years ago, the moon would have been touching the Earth“2. Also, by measuring how much cosmic dust hits our atmosphere, we can determine how much dust would be on the moon. Figuring that the universe was billions of years old, scientists calculated that the dust on the moon could be as deep as fifty feet which is why the lunar landing module had such large landing pads. Scientists were worried it could sink and get stuck in the dust. They were surprised when the astronauts found only a few inches (about 10,000 years) of dust. The more reliable science supports the biblical time frame! Science just doesn’t want to believe it. The question is, what do you want to believe? A world created by accident, the odds of which science would have to admit is scientifically impossible. Or a world created by a loving God who created us in His image, has a plan for us, and wants us to be with him eternally.
